| I was in Paris during the week long "Liberation de Paris"
60th annual celebration, August 25, 2004 --
There was a special electricity in the air
and love for Americans. I marched with the re-enactors, and was
kissed by 3 French girls with ruby red lipstick, and danced with them in the streets. The finale was a huge
celebration at the Bastille with over a hundred thousand people listening to Mireille Mathieu sing "Is Paris Burning." I became French in my heart and felt like I really belonged there. Oh, I'm still American, but I
will never be the same American I was before. It also helps to be married to a
French Woman <smile>. |
